Best places to visit in Seoul

  


  1. N Seoul Tower located on Mt. Namsan offers great panoramic views of the city, and has been a symbol of Seoul since it first opened to the public in 1980.
    Not only the tower was recently undergone a major remodeling, but also a new name following a complete makeover. It is now a true cultural space with various performances, movies, exhibitions as well as upscale restaurants and snack bars.
  2. Myeongdong It is all about fashion, fashion & fashion in Myeongdong, Seoul’s primary & most famous shopping district. If it’s variety that you’re after, there’s no better place to shop than Myeong-dong where you’ll find everything from internationally-recognized name brands to unique items.Myeongdong also houses a variety of family restaurants, fast food, plus Korean, Western and Japanese dining options. Many restaurants in Myeongdong specialize in pork cutlet (donkas) and kalguksu (thick noodles). 
  3. HongDaeThe area surrounding Hongdae as it’s affectionately called, is the center of Korea’s youthful nightlife. Many of Seoul’s idiosyncratic clubs that draw the younger set are clustered in the area. With Hongik University nearby, a prestigious school known for its leading arts and design programs, the area attracts students and visitors alike to shop & club. The highest concentration of clothing stalls and vintage shops can be found along the main passageway, Eo Ulmadang-gil, minutes away from the subway station.
  4. Gyeongbokgung Palace arguably the most beautiful and remains the grandest of all five palaces is also called “Northern Palace” because it is the furthest north when compared to the neighboring palaces of Changdeokgung (Eastern Palace) and Gyeongheegung (Western Palace). The National Palace Museum of Korea is located south of Heungnyemun Gate, and the National Folk Museum is located east within Hyangwonjeong. The name of the palace, Gyeongbokgung, translates in English as “Palace of Shining Happiness.” The premises were destroyed by fire at the time of Japanese occupation from 1592-1598. However, all of the palace’s 7,700 rooms were later restored under the leadership of Heungseondaewongun during the reign of King Gojong.

  1. Ddeokbokki(pronounced: duck-bow-key) Ddeokbokki is one of the most popular Korean dishes in Korea. Koreans love it. The dish consists of a somewhat spicy red sauce smothering thick and stubby cylindrical rice-noodles.You can find ddeokbokki everywhere in Korean, it’s mostly sold by street side food vendors.                                             
  2. Bibimbap (pronounced: bee-bim-bop) Bibimbap is a Korean expat staple. It’s in the daily diet for pretty much all foreigners here. It looks healthy, too. You get a bowl of rice with lettuce, beansprouts, spinach, carrots, green onions, zucchini, etc, and then an egg is slapped right on top of it. In addition you get a nice spicy red sauce called kochujang. You mix it all together and slurp it up. Sometimes you can get it served to you in a hot stone bowl, which makes it that much better.
  3. Kimbap in Korea, Kimbop is the Korean go-to food: quick to make, healthy, delicious. Essentially, it’s seaweed that’s wrapped around white rice that’s wrapped around assorted vegetables and a bit of minced beef, squid, or ham. The rolls are cut up into bite-sized pieces, just like California sushi rolls.

Angka korban feri karam meningkat kepada 104 orang

Bilangan korban yang disahkan dalam nahas feri Korea Selatan melepasi 100 hari ini, tetapi hampir sekali ganda masih hilang selepas hampir seminggu usaha mencari dan menyelamat.
Angka korban rasmi yang diberikan pengawal pantai ialah 104 orang dengan 198 yang lain masih hilang. 
Feri Sewol seberat 6825 tan itu membawa 476 orang, sebilangan besarnya pelajar sekolah, ketika ia karam rabu lalu.
AHLI keluarga penumpang yang terbabit dalam nahas feri Sewol melihat ke arah laut sambil di sebelah mereka kelihatan seorang sami yang berdoa untuk mangsa di pelabuhan Jindo.

KL antara diumum kawasan larangan pembakaran terbuka

Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Kuala Lumpur dan Putrajaya diumum sebagai kawasan terbaharu larangan pembakaran terbuka ekoran jerebu teruk ketika ini. Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Alam Sekitar dalam kenyataan di sini berkata,larangan pembakaran terbuka itu yang berkuatkuasa serta merta sehingga ke satu tarikh yang akan diberitahu, bagaimanapun dikecualikan bagi pembakaran mayat, pembakaran bagi tujuan keagamaan, barbeku dan pembakaran gas mudah terbakar (flaring). Katanya, mereka yang sabit kesalahan melakukan pembakaran terbuka boleh dikenakan denda tidak melebihi RM 500,000 atau penjara selama tempoh tidak melebihi 5 tahun atau kedua-duanya sekali.

Malaysia amat hargai bantuan Jepun dalam operasi mencari MH370

Malaysia amat menghargai bantuan Jepun dalam operasi mencari dan menyelamat (SAR) serta kata-kata semangat diberikan berhubung insiden pesawat Malaysia Airlines (MAS) MH370 yang hilang, kata Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. Perdana Menteri Jepun itu turut menyatakan penghargaannya terhadap kepimpinan Najib dalam menangani situasi sukar itu dan memaklumkan kesediaan Jepun untuk terus menyokong usaha Najib.

61 calon STPM Pulau Pinang dapat PNGK 4.0

Sebanyak 61 pelajar daripada 3,637 calon Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) 2013 mendapat Purata Nilai Gred Terkumpul (PNGK) 4.0 dengan pencapaian MIN negeri meningkat kepada 2.66 berbanding 2.53 tahun lalu.

Paras air empangan di Selangor masih kritikal walaupun hujan

Paras air di semua empangan di Selangor masih berada di paras kritikal walaupun berlaku hujan di negeri ini sejak beberapa hari lalu.
Pengarah Lembaga Urus Air Selangor (LUAS), Md. Khairi Selamat berkata, tiada peningkatan kapasiti air di keenam-enam empangan di negeri itu kerana kadar hujan yang masih kurang dan tidak memberikan kesan yang signifikan kepada kapasiti empangan.
Katanya, kapasiti Empangan Sungai Selangor misalnya masih berada pada tahap 30 peratus bersamaan 69 juta meter padu, manakala Empangan Klang Gates mengalami sedikit peningkatan daripada 51.16 peratus kepada 51.30 peratus hari ini.
